CCTV AI Traffic & Signal Management / Up Duration of Yellow Lights

How many of us are tired of blindly obeying traffic management tech from almost a century ago. That’s right, traffic lights have been just about the same design for almost 100 years now. We’re tired of reboots and redo’s, it’s time for the last millennium to take a hike and to stop living through our kids vicariously like its primanoche. What’s going to happen is that they are going to steal the spirit of the 60’s right out from under us if we don’t follow the laws of live and let live.
The other day I found myself in the stupid zone yet again. The amount of energy wasted from a hard brake from 45mph is about the same amount of energy it takes for a mother to go from conception to child birth, and maybe a little more. All of that energy being wasted is a heinous violation of semitic principles. Every physicist knows that impulse momentum exponentiates as the same force is compressed into a shorter time. While we are dealing with the subject of better energy reuptake devices for vehicles, why don’t we lessen the load on our cars and trucks by updating the traffic lights.
The first step should be an extra second or two on our yellow lights, especially with the higher number of trucks on the road, and with electric vehicles weighing more than IC vehicles, also accounting for the disorder of the modern world in the face of overall fraud such as the fed, and laggings in govt updates caused by tech, exacerbated by the former. I just snapped out of that stale, mental robo-zone one day braking hard at every light and though, gee, how hard would it be? I looked over the roads in SE Houston and most of the lines were gone, most of the ppl down here drive by memory anyhow…it really ticked me off that the cop wrote me up for an expired registration the week before, as if a bear had chastised a deer for eating something living, I digress. I started thinking though, I wonder if they are timing these lights to cause the most trouble as possible, I definitely noticed that the yellow lights in Houston are shorter than the ones in Austin, and it seemed like the turn arrows were timed to make adjacent drivers more prone to run red lights, but that’s TBD…squeaky wheels get the grease though. In the back of my mind I’m wondering if the disrepair is left to encourage good students to get a free ride to college if they know how to file a Complaint properly…the govt here has tons of money from the factories, I digress again though. Then again, traffic lights could be much better, with a flat display taking the whole width of the light much like an LCD screen which would display the color of the light over the WHOLE display, and could even flash messages like warnings about drivers running intersections, which might be an orange color, I don’t know.
And that led me to think that such tech would have to be integrated into a CCTV system tied to AI. Instead of companies wasting zillions of dollars trying to make driverless vehicles, which is a pipe-dream, why not put that money towards a CCTV system for traffic which will eventually tie into a society-wide CCTV AI system? Facial recog tech could easily be adapted to vehicles, we already have a roadway camera system so the bones are there. With such things as nationalization of the airwaves and free data transit, wireless or otherwise, just like the roadways are free to drive on, traffic camera systems could be easily implemented and tied into a central AI server which could run algorithms for optimizing traffic.
I CANNOT TELL YOU how many times I’ve been at a red light waiting on NO ONE, feeling myself being sucked back into the past century, my mouth running dry and wondering just how far off I am from being hauled off to the mental hospital! This stuff is serious because kids can die from lack of upkeep, as if we decided to arm our troops with flint-lock rifles one day and say “hey, they worked then, they work now, right” WRONG…that’s like saying the same sentence you just said thinking it will work, thinking it will work, thinking it will work. NO! Not happening!
Anyway, it made sense to me that the roads in Htown are dilapidating, it’s because the ppl here are smart and have a genetic history of being top notch workers, I would be my last harvest seed on them knowing instinctively that you don’t want to do a big job without prepping for it first, just like you soften a battlefield before you send in the main force. Having a traffic management system, tied directly into GPS systems mandated by judicial order, and even integrated into the new digital radio tag readers on vehicle stereos or public broadcasts would make redoing the roads a breeze. With an AI managed traffic CCTV system tied into GPS systems and traffic lights, adding a few seconds to the yellow lights will come naturally.
Cheers!
