Relax Immigrant/Naturalization Laws, Regulated Work Entry & Labor Subsidized Housing
America is a mixing pot and it's true spirit was meant to be that way for posterity.Immigrant laws are very difficult to fufill these days due to alot of reasons. People have less time and energy to dedicate to study and life is more distracting due to the entropy associated with federal bureaucracy and corruption. Furthermore, govt systems are outrun by the digital age, further complicating the issue.Such things make true immigration less appealing...who wants to trade apples for oranges? So what we end up with is basically people fleeing to our country from Mexico over one boarder and not really true immigration from the globe. This is a problem because these people cause a large overburden because many are unskilled and criminal. The solution should lie in being able to cope and offer American citizenship more easily. I mean, everybody's got a translator on their phone these days, cmon...and modernity has mixed things up enough to make survival more relaxed, so we should ease up a bit and respect people more because we fought a long way to get to the promised land we need to share because that's what our forefathers would've wanted...after all, everyone is mathematically related, at least by a 3rd cousin beginning by about 1650 on back if you look at the numbers, which means that any person in the world anyone picks before 1650 they have a direct relation to (3rd cousin is considered the furthest direct relation). Plus everybody's seen Die Hard too...lolAnyway, one of the other ideas that I had would be a work entry program which would ensure that immigrant labor does not undercut honest Americans, and especially young folk in need of work. That could be done by preventing immigrants from taking certain jobs until they are certified, yet also lowering their minimum wage for their first few years in the US, which would encourage certain companies to hire them first but not others, either that or offer low cost housing, though at the expense of maybe 10-15 hours of work dedicated to community service, so that there would always be a labor pool of free labor for the State, which could outsource it to certain companies or even citizens who just need a yard cleaned...the key to the balance would be to give immigrants a little boost by making them pay x amount less than they normally would for housing, though require maybe .5x of community service--a win, win Work programs would also be able to separate skilled laborers from unskilled laborers to ensure quality, or perhaps allow skilled laborers to proceed normally....Systems such as eGov, mentioned on this site, would be key towards fine tuning and upkeeping these laws, and speaking of voting, relaxing immigration laws would ensure that more people becoming citizens would keep the population better represented for voting, which is a major issue with illegals...that and we would encourage better commerce because social mobility is also a major issue due to the inability to obtain loans and pursue courses in education. By catering to immigrants we would be able to keep track of them better as well, lowering crime. Also, by embracing immigrants, we could better sever their ties to criminal enterprise activity with their home country's. By using little tricks of time to inure both sides of the coin and set good foundations for the future, we can stabilitize.Feel free to add to the pot.
